The meeting started about 4:00 pm yesterday and it was supposed to last for an hour but it lasted for about four hours due to several misunderstandings among the ASUU union and the Federal Government.
According to report, the ASUU union is suspending the strike till the end of October for government to fulfill their promise.
The suspension of the strike was announced after a meeting with the government delegation Monday evening.
At the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the federal government delegation led by the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige.
Consequently, the leadership of the union has called on lecturers to resume duty as from today Tuesday 19th, 2017.
