LASU Departmental Cut Off Marks 2021/2022

Lagos State University (LASU) was established in 1983 by the enabling Law of Lagos State of Nigeria to advance learning and the establishment of academic excellence. It may interest you to know that LASU was the only university in the former British colony. This should tell you that the school is a highly competitive one.

LASU Cut Off Mark for JAMB 2021/22

LASU minimum cut off mark for all courses in 2021/22 is 180. So if you score up to 180, it means you are automatically eligible to appear for the institutions’ post UTME exercise for any course chosen in JAMB.

The Post UTME comes in two ways; written or oral screening. After this, admission will depend on the departmental cut-offs listed below.

The Two-Phase of Post UTME Screening

The Lagos State University (LASU) holds her two-phased admission screening exercises within a week or couple of weeks. You are to proceed with the pre-screening exercise when once it is being announced.

Documents required for the pre-screening exercise are SSCE result and JAMB registration printout only.

It is important you locate your screening venue early as you will be screened based on your JAMB scores and SSCE result respectively.

The second phase of the screening is after the admission lists might have been released. If you merited admission, you will be invited for another screening exercise. Here are all documents such as;

  • Original copies of their educational qualifications (Statements of Results/Certificates). Please note awaiting results will NOT be accepted.
  • Birth Certification/Age Declaration.
  • A letter of attestation from your village head or a responsible member of your
    community/or civil servant not below Grade Level 10 or equivalent in the private sector.
  • Certificate of Local Government of origin

Must I be 16 years of age before choosing LASU in Jamb?

Yes, you must be. LASU has a very strict policy on Age in that you may be denied admission if you are not up to 16 years even though you beat the cut-off mark at JAMB.

How can I calculate LASU cut off mark?

Below are the steps to calculate your cut off mark,

  • Divide your JAMB score by 8,
  • Divide your Post UTME score by  2,
  • Add up the result.

 What is the minimum cut off for all courses?

LASU minimum cut off mark for all courses in 2021/22 is 180. You should note that because of its competitive nature, it is advised you score higher.

What is the cut off for the faculty of Education?

The cut-off mark is 200 and above. For more elaborated information, below is the cut off mark for each department.

  • Faculty of Arts – 180 and above.
  • Faculty of Social Sciences – 230 and above.
  • Faculty of Law – 250 and above.
  • Faculty of Sciences – 230 and above.
  • Faculty of Engineering – 250 and above.
  • School of Basic Medical Sciences – 240 and above.
  • Faculty of Education – 200 and above.
